Diggers Beach Park provided a great backdrop for our school holiday catch up. Educators, children and staff enjoyed the opportunity to network and the park provided opportunity for play and adventure without the addition of too many other resources.
The children used gross motor skills to climb, balance, swing and jump and children of all ages participated in a game of T-Ball. Great eye-hand coordination skills were on display as children took it in turns to line the ball up and hit it with the baseball bat. Small games soon emerged between groups of children involving fetching, chasing, and hitting the balls.
A game of “elastics” was also introduced. Children were determined to complete the different height levels of the elastics as they jumped “inside, outside inside on” and educators reminisced and shared memories of their own childhood with the children.
Keep an eye out for our next adventure into natural play spaces.
